It has been 11 days since Geordon left hospital and in that time he has built up activity daily by walking, jogging, and kayaking. Yesterday, after getting 33 staples removed, he went for a 1 km open ocean swim (in 20 min).

Today is his 56th birthday and, to start off the day, he went for a 5.6 km run on a beach in Dubai. These are milestones but even more so, they are testimonies of grace, accompanied by many emotions that reflect both on what we’ve been through and each step forward. For today, an ice cream each and handmade Mother’s Day / Birthday cards made by our youngest was plenty.

There are many transitions ahead of us - Jolyn returning on Sunday (May 15), celebrating 20 years of our organization in the UAE on May 22, Joy graduating on May 28, heading to Canada for the summer, and assisting a new National Director to settle in the UAE with his family later this year. One step at a time.

We will be winding this blog down later this month (look for one more!) and we look forward to re-engaging more personally. Once again we thank you for all your encouragement and practical help. Special thanks again to Dr. Samy and the staff at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi!

. . .I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
