It’s been 15 weeks since the first photo of this blog was taken. We were at Expo 2020 in Dubai at an event we called Expo Jam, having a great time with a group of youth and youth leaders singing songs accompanied by a conglomeration of instruments. Geordon shared a talk about Compassion, Curiosity, Conversation, Collaboration, & Courage that day - a day in between preliminary tests and the diagnosis of two brain aneurysms that started us on this journey of God’s grace.
Since we last wrote, Geordon has done several metric centuries on his bike, multiple 2.5 km swims towing his kayak behind him, a 23 km kayak paddle and has started running again. . .recovering and re-establishing fitness. The last thing his surgeon said to him was, “The next time I see you it will be with your arms raised high, crossing an Ironman finish line!”
It’s the end of an era - four kids with IB diplomas after 24 years of schooling through 12 schools in five countries - completed! We will be spending time in Canada this summer (Jun. 26-Aug. 18) and then returning to Abu Dhabi to start a time of transition. If you would like to stay in touch, please use family@rendle.ca and feel free to follow family photos @ www.rendle.ca.
This will be our last blog post here but this chapter is one that will be forever imprinted on our lives, including memories of all the surrounding community that has leaned in to pray for, feed and accompany us along the way. THANK YOU!
With grateful hearts, Geordon, Marilyn, Jordan & Rachel, Joshua, Jolyn and Joy
“For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” John 1:16-17
