“You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.”
Psalm 86:5 (NIV)
After I wrote yesterday, the anesthesia started wearing off throughout the day. Geordon was in considerable pain but that was to be expected. He was just able to use hand signals in the beginning but as the afternoon moved into the evening he was able to chat a bit which was a good sign. Joy & I were able to be with him until he was ready to sleep and then we headed home.
When I arrived at the hospital this morning Geordon was out of bed, sitting in a chair and ready to be moved to a regular room. His left eye and that side of his face are still quite swollen but the swelling will subside with time (and saying he “was in a boxing match” makes for a good story). He is talking normally now though still very tired. Being in his new room (1317) will be good for a quiet recovery.
For those who have asked about visiting: You need a 24 hr PCR to get in and visiting hours are 10 am - noon and 5 - 7 pm. Numbers may be limited (there is a waiting room on the floor) and visits should be kept short. You are welcome to come but please do not feel you have to visit - there will be a second surgery in just over a month!
The art gallery is growing, a loving display of the little ones who know “Mr. Geordon” from our community. Thank you for your care for us!
As we pause to take each moment as it comes, we know that life goes on around us. We hope you will take time to focus on the One who gives us life. Joy played this song on the way to school today to do her English IB Individual Oral exam (which apparently went well!) and we thought you might enjoy it.
“In the morning I’ll say you. . .are. . .good,
in the evening I’ll say you. . .are. . . good,
you are good to me.”
