Both Ramadan (Apr 1-May 1) and Easter week (Apr 10-17) have started since we last wrote and Spring Break just finished. Joy had a wonderful week with Jolyn in Barcelona while we spent quiet days here in Abu Dhabi catching up on paperwork, enjoying couple time, and walking (Geordon is now up to 240 km since his first surgery).
Upon Joy's return we were able to spend one overnight in Fujairah (a different Emirate) with friends who also have a daughter graduating soon. Along the way, Geordon has been able to connect with a few friends (no, he was not playing soccer!), being spoiled by treats and meals that arrive at our doorstep. We, in turn, have been able to share some with neighbours. 🙂
Last Friday Geordon had his first haircut since surgery and the scar is healing nicely. He will be doing his next pre-op tomorrow, Jordan and Rachel will be here from April 14-21, and then the second surgery will be Wednesday, April 27th (also Jolyn’s 19th birthday!).
Even as we contemplate the significance of this Easter season, we have heard of the passing of three friends and a cousin. We are grateful that we do not grieve as those who have no hope.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
